Before & After: Check out this old aerial view of St George’s Bay!
It’s so different we almost can’t believe it!

This nostalgic black and white photo, which was posted on the Facebook group Malta Lura Fil Passat, has seriously made us gasp! The image details the famous St George’s Bay and the surrounding buildings, or rather fields encircling it.

The date of the image remains unknown, but a few buildings could already be seen in place. Most of the land, however, remains untouched. As this after picture illustrates, things are a tad different nowadays, as the area has become a famous nightlife and entertainment spot, flocked by locals and tourists – in a pre-pandemic situation, that is.

Observing the way it once was, commentators couldn’t help but recall the days when the Paceville area was a peaceful place to live in – hence the name, ‘Paceville.’ Many now consider it an urban jungle, with very little natural spaces.

So, which one do you prefer?
