Back on! Barrakka lift reopens & Valletta ferries resume full service from today
Public gardens in Valletta have opened their doors once more.

Transport Malta have this morning announced that an agreement has been reached among ferry and lift operators in Valletta for services to resume with immediate effect.

The announcement was shared on social media accompanied by an animated video: "From today 16th June, the ferry which operates between Valletta and Cottonera or Sliema will begin operating on a fixed schedule."

The Valletta-Cottonera ferry had been operating every hour rather than every half hour, as well as reduced times for the past few months.

The post continued to explain that the Barrakka Lift has also reopened its doors and public gardens, including the Upper Barrakka Gardens, are now available for public enjoyment.
