If you head to the airport area on the daily, you might want to listen up. Infrastructure Malta has announced that a diversion is in place when heading towards the airport due to the new Kirkop Tunnels project.

“As the Kirkop Tunnels & Airport Intersection Project works gather pace, we’re opening a new temporary access road to the Malta International Airport from Hal Far Road.

IM announced that the existing access road, Il-Karwija Road from the Gudja (Airport) roundabout has been closed as of last night so that the building of the project’s new structures can be done. “Follow diversion signs from the roundabout to a short diversion through Hal Far Road, then turn left to the temporary airport access road.”
