A new take on a Maltese traditional sweet: World, meet the Zeppoli shake!
It’s the newest addition to the menu at Shakes n’ Bakes.

Milkshakes have become like the porn of the dessert world. At the advent of the internet, it came to be said that if it exists, there’s porn of it, and now, the same can be said with desserts and shakes: if it exists, it’s bound to find its way into a shake soon enough!

And, thanks to our friends over at San Gwann eatery Shakes n’ Bakes, the latest dessert to get all shook up is local traditional sweet: zeppoli.

A sweet pastry associated with the feast of St Joseph on 19th March, and enjoyed right on through to Easter, zeppoli are deep-fried dough balls topped with powdered sugar, and well, I’m actually surprised it took this long for a milkshake using these delicious treats to be created!
