An inspiring friendship between two talented tenors.

Last Saturday, Maltese tenor Jospeh Calleja put up a concert like no other right here in Malta and had the renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli as his special guest.

After the special night, Andrea took to his social media with a sweet message full of praise dedicated to Malta very own Joseph Calleja.

“Stage lights illuminate the surface of people and things. Those beams, powerful enough to banish shadow and mimic the light of day, are part of the magic. Some artists lose that layer of shine typical of the boards when they leave it. Others, like Joseph Calleja, carry the sun within themselves, nurturing it not only in the splendor of their performance”, Andrea Bocelli wrote.

“It’s well-known that Joseph is a great singer, but he is also a great person, a beautiful soul that shines even behind the scenes, one who pursues the revolutionary strength of a kindness that, when it is authentic, goes well beyond the surfaces to light up our hearts”, he continued.

“A major musical talent blooming within a major existential talent: that will be why Calleja is a dear friend both to us and to all those who have been rushing to applaud him for years”.

Joseph Calleja soon took to his own Instagram to thank Andrea Bocelli for such kind words.

“Thank you for your kind words and for honouring us with your friendship”.

What a beautifully written message of someone so deserving!
