This week, Britain will be celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, commemorating the 70 years since she ascended the throne.

This makes Queen E the first ever British Monarch to celebrate such a momentous occasion.

Towns and villages all around the United Kingdom are gearing up for a ‘once in a lifetime show’, as citizens enjoy a well-deserved long weekend.

In celebration of this rare event, today we’re taking a trip back to 1992, when Her Majesty spent some time in Malta to celebrate her Ruby Jubilee.

These celebrations coincided with the 50th anniversary of Malta receiving the honourable George Cross.

Queen Elizabeth had visited Valletta with her late husband, Prince Philip, where they were welcomed by cheering crowds. The Royal paid had also paid their respects at Floriana’s War Memorial.

Do you remember this national event?
