A good pizza is a matter of taste, and while (thankfully) there are loads of great pizzerias in Malta, these 11 are among what we deem to be the very best. Here are our top pizza spots across the islands, in no particular order.

Mandraggio is an Italian restaurant and pizzeria located in a beautiful square in the centre of Valletta with amazing views of the sea. It serves lunch and dinner and offers outdoor seating as well as takeaway.
2. Vecchia Napoli, Luqa, Salini, Sliema & Valletta

The Vecchia Napoli restaurant is available in four locations around Malta: Skyparks Luqa, Salini, Sliema and Valletta. The ingredients - the flour, tomato and mozzarella - are imported from Italy and the pizza is prepared in a wood-burning oven. It serves lunch and dinner and offers outdoor seating as well as takeaway.
3. La Buona Trattoria del Nonno, St Paul’s Bay

La Buona Trattoria del Nonno is situated on the main road of St Paul's Bay and includes an atmospheric garden with outdoor seating. It also offers takeaway and has a parking area. Open for lunch and dinner!
4. Pepe Nero, Valletta Waterfront, St Paul’s Bay & Swieqi

With outdoor seating, takeaway and delivery options available and restaurants at the Valletta Waterfront, St Paul's Bay and Swieqi, there's no excuse not to try the pizza at Pepe Nero. You'll be glad you did.
5. Vecchia Taranto, Smart City & Valletta

You can try the delicious pizza from Vecchia Taranto at Smart City or in Valletta. It is open for lunch and dinner and the Smart City branch in Kalkara offers takeaway and outdoor seating. The secret here is that the dough is hand prepared and allowed to sit for 72 hours.
6. Il Vecchio Forno, Mosta

Here's a wine bar set in an old village bakery that serves a wonderfully authentic wood-oven pizza. It is open for wine and dinner and offers takeaway. Booking is recommended at Il Vecchio Forno as it is small and extremely popular.
7. Café Cuba, Sliema, St Julian's & Mosta

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Cafe Cuba, which has branches in Sliema, St Julian's and Mosta. It also offers outdoor seating and takeaway. Check out their unique star-shaped pizza!
8. Sotto Pizzeria, Valletta

Sotto Pizzeria in Valletta opens for lunch and dinner. Sotto takes pride in its pizza being 'different'... you'll have to try it to find out how that is so!
9. Made in Sud, Bugibba

Made in Sud Pizzeria is located in Bugibba. It serves a traditional Neopolitan pizza and is open for dinner. The Four Seasons pizza actually has four divisions with different flavours!
10. Ottavo Senso, Victoria (Gozo)

In Gozo, we find delicious pizza in the capital, Victoria, at Ottavo Senso. It also offers outdoor seating and takeaway. The flour is imported from Italy, the dough is left to rise for at least 48 hours and the pizza is cooked in a wood-fire oven.
11. Xerri il-Bukkett, Qala (Gozo)

Delicious pizza with outdoor seating is among the best you could hope for at Xerri il-Bukkett, with stunning views of Comino and Malta. Situated in Qala, Gozo, the restaurant also offers takeaway.
